Authorities Bust Pittsburgh Repair Shop Thieves

The Pittsburgh City Police Auto Squad and the Pennsylvania State Police Western Regional Auto Theft Task Force arrested two suspects on multiple counts of burglary, theft, receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy after an investigation revealed that they were responsible for multiple thefts of property and vehicles from repair garages ocurring throughout the greater Pittsburgh area.

The suspects rammed a vehicle into the garage door of repair shops, pushing the door off its track.  Once inside, the suspects would load a vehicle that was in the shop for repairs with tools and inspection stickers and then steal the vehicle from the location.

Further investigation led to the arrest of seven more individuals and produced derivative charges related to theft and receiving stolen property (for sales or purchases of stolen items), drug and firearm possession.
