3 Held For Holdup In Avondale

Pennsylvania State Police arrested three men for their alleged roles in a March car theft and attempted abduction, reported the Daily Local News of West Chester, PA.

According to the report, the incident occured at the Wawa convenience store in the 700 block of Gap-Newport Pike.  Police said that two men approached the victim as she was returning to her car.  The suspects tried to abduct her, but she fled.  They stole her car and quickly abandoned and set fire to it.

The victim called the police from within the store.

The police advise shoppers to be alert in store parking lots and offer these tips:

  • Whenever possible, shop during daylight and park as close as possible to the store
  • When shopping after dark, park in well-lit areas
  • Avoid parking next to vans and SUVs to maintain a clear view
  • Customers uncomfortable walking alone can ask a store employee to walk with them to their vehicle or be vigilant for them
